International Sourcing
What is the difference between Michigan Tool Works and a broker? How is your approach better?
MTW is there for you, from beginning to end. A broker has a desk, maybe an office and nothing more. A broker will sell you a tool from the cheapest source they can find. A broker outsources the entire project, sacrificing control, timing, and service. If a tool is purchased from a broker and issues arise, repair work is needed, or there is an engineering change, it would be the responsibility of the customer to coordinate and source a tool shop to provide the necessary services. Additionally, the tool shop chosen would likely not be familiar with the tool, which could lead to timing and quality issues.
At MTW, we eliminate those issues because we are your partner from start to finish. We have worked diligently to seek out high quality global sources, traveling overseas on several occasions to determine which shops would be the best fit for MTW. These established exclusive partnerships with 3 shops in Shenzhen, China give us consistency and higher quality control. Our global partners are familiar with the personnel at MTW and abide by MTW standards.
In addition, MTW has a state-of-the-art mold building facility and sample house located in Sturgis, MI. Once a tool chosen by the customer to be built offshore arrives at MTW, it is disassembled, inspected, cleaned, greased, sampled and approved prior to shipping to your facility. MTW will stand by your mold and provide support throughout the life cycle of any tool we provide. This makes for the consistently high quality standards and service MTW demands and our customers expect.
